Oh. what do you do in the summertime?

My dad got some squirt guns at work for his birthday, so he kindly gave them to the children (Brad, Brian, & Mason) to play with. Mason just thought that they were so much fun. He was giggling the whole time.
He couldn't squirt the gun on his own but he didn't mind getting squirted while
he tried to squirt back.

Mason also found a new best friend in the dog dog. He did everything with this dog.
He took the dog on a walk. Actually, I think the dog took Mason on a walk.
But Mason was happy to follow along. If the dog stopped to sniff something, Mason did too.
If the dog sat down, Mason did too. It was pretty funny.

Mason did everything with the dog. If the dog barked at the window, Mason did too.
Mason liked to play fetch with the dog. My dad would throw the fish and both Mason & Jenny would run after it. Mason never beat the dog to it but he just thought it was fun to run. Anyways, Mason thought the dog needed to play fetch all the time so he was constantly throwing the fish at the dog but the dog would only chase it if my dad threw it. Mason would get so aggravated at Jenny and keep throwing it at her head. Poor dog.
We took Mason to see Toy Story 3. He looked so cute sitting in the chair all by himself. All through the movie he would keep yelling out, "Buzz!" "Woody!" "Oh, no!" Adorable.
We went with Rachel to get her senior pictures and the park had a little beach area right next to the river. Mason was in heaven. He had so much fun in the dirt.

Grandma was trying to teach Mason how to make a sand castle but Mason was more interested in knocking it down.

Mason got plenty of ice cream at Grandma's house.
One morning we took Mason to the local dairy to see all the animals. He thought this was just the coolest thing ever.
Mason really loved the goat.

Mason just loved spending time outside. Here he is standing on an old firetruck.

Yellowstone

The first weekend that we were in Idaho, we went and stayed at a cabin about an hour away from Yellowstone. The last time my family went was about 14 years ago so I was really excited to go. We spent the whole day there. Mason loved just being outside. We told him to keep a look out for a moose so all day long he kept looking around saying, "Where's moose?" And then he would make a "shhh" sound because we told him if we were loud we would scare the animals away.
This is our best attempt at a family picture. Mason wouldn't
look at the camera if there was something more exciting behind us.
We looked at the mud pots.

Of course we had to go and see Old Faithful. Here are Brad and Mason hanging out, waiting for the show time :)
Old Faithful

We saw lots of buffalo, deer, and elk. This buffalo was literally right outside the car window. Mason kept trying to "mooo" at it. haha. But we didn't see any moose so when we got back to Idaho Falls we took Mason to Sportsman's Warehouse so that he could see the stuffed moose that were in there.
So pretty
We had a fun day just being outside. Everything was so pretty and it was so relaxing to just look around. We had a blast!

Summer Fun

After we left Fish Lake, we drove up to Idaho. We split the drive up into a couple days. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to spend some time with Spencer & Mona. Mason loves to play with their kids and we always enjoy Mona's good food :)

The first night we were in Idaho we headed over to the park. I got Mason this little backpack so that he can carry his own diapers and toys. Plus, I just think he looks really cute wearing it.
He had tons of fun on the playground.

There is nothing cuter than this little boy riding on his Dad's shoulders.
The next day we went down by the river so Mason could feed the ducks. He had SO much fun.
Every so often he would feed himself some of the bread instead of the ducks.

Fish Lake 2010

We went to Fish Lake for the Robison family reunion. As usual, it was nice weather and lots of fun. Mason had SO much fun just being outside. The first night we took him on a little walk to see some little streams.
The next morning we went on the first boat ride. We didn't do any fishing, just took some of the kids out fir a ride...The boat put Mason to sleep everytime we went on a ride.
There was lots of activities planned for the kids. One day they read "A Very Hungry Caterpillar" and then made their very own caterpillar magnets. Mason thought this was fun.
Of course, there was lots of playing outside with the cousins. Mason just thinks that they are too cool and he has to do everything that they do.
The next day we played nature bingo with the kids and took them on a nature walk.
Mason was much more interested in eating his smarties than using them to mark his bingo board.
Mason really liked the picnic blanket and snack time in the middle of the nature walk.
Every time Mason saw a bug he would jump up and follow the bug wherever it was going. He had to bend down to the ground and get really close to them.
Of course we had to take Mason out fishing. He was really excited but we didn't catch anything on this trip out.
Mason got to help Daddy drive the boat.
The next day we went out on the boat again. Mason fell right to sleep on the ride out to the fishing spot. After about an hour he woke up ready to go fishing.
He wanted to get right up close to the fish and he was so helpful in bringing the fish in the net.
We kept 5 big ones
Then there was some more playing in the dirt...
and storytime with Grandma-Great. She gave all of the great grandchildren their own stuffed animals. Mason got a cute little monkey.
Some boys caught a little gardner snake and Mason was constantly asking "Where's snake?"
He loved that snake. The boys put the snake in a cooler with some rocks and Mason could not keep his head out of there.
He also tried to be helpful by putting more rocks in the cooler but he didn't have very good aim and he kept hitting the poor snake with rocks...oops!
Jacob & Madi with the snake.

We took the kids out for one last boat ride. Mason sure likes to do whatever Dylan does.

We had a fun time at the family reunion and can't wait to go again!
