Halloween and Trunk or Treat

We had a fun Halloween this year. Mason was a pirate. On Saturday night, our ward had a trunk-or-treat. Mason had a lot of fun going from car to car. He thought he needed to say "trick or treat" to every person regardless of if they were in the same car...so he got 2 or 3 candies from some cars.
I had to post this picture. I know Mason looks a bit girly but I love it. Plus, its the only picture with the earring.

We dressed up Morgan as the tootsie roll for the trunk or treat so she would stay warm
It is virtually impossible to get a picture of both of them.
On Halloween, we dressed up Morgan in her fairy costume since she would be staying inside. he held on to the wand really good.

Again, picture taking was awful but these are the best :) All the other ones involve nose picking or crying or head down...

Just have to love those cute little boogers!

Pumpkin Patch

One Saturday we decided to go to the pumpkin patch to get our pumpkins this year. It ended up being really windy so Morgan stayed in the car with my dad. Mason spent a lot of time searching through the pumpkins. All of the pumpkins that Mason picked out were the bumpy, warty ones or the ones that were funny colors.

There was a train to ride around the patch.
Here are the pumpkins we picked out. Mason's is the little, soggy green one, haha.
There was also a corn maze to walk through. Mason went in and got frustrated that he couldn't find his way out after a few minutes so he decided to go back out the way he came in. I was surprised that he was able to remember and navigate the way he came through.

Chicken Coop

My parents recently got some chickens at their house. A couple of weeks before they got the chickens, my dad built a chicken coop. Mason was a big helper and had a lot of fun playing in it.

After the chickens arrived, Mason had to help my dad get them settled in to their new home.

Mason has been checking on the chickens several times a day and gets so excited when he finds eggs. It took him a while to realize that these were eggs to eat though...he cried and got upset the first time he saw someone eat an egg. He carries the eggs so gently and holds them like a baby and pets them. It is pretty hilarious. He has gotten so good at checking on the chickens that he can go check for eggs, then go inside the coop and give them food and then come out and close the door all by himself.

Pumpkin Carving

The Sunday before Halloween, the Doty's were nice enough to invite us and Corey and MaryAnn over to care pumpkins. Since Mason had picked out a practically rotted pumpkin, we let him draw on his with a sharpie...there is no way it would have survived carving, I think it would have collapsed.
We made Morgan a pirate skill with a bow on it
