Snow Day

Last Friday Brad took Mason up to Brianhead for the day with his friend Jared and his daughter Madison. They had a cabin to stay at and spent the day playing in the snow with the kids.

Brad found a snow suit in the cabin for Mason to wear...I think it was a size 6, but it worked out OK.
Checking out the hill
Too cute together. Mason keeps talking about Madison, but I think he misunderstood her name because he won't stop calling her "Menace", haha.

Snowball fight!!
Here is a little video of Mason and Brad sledding...I don't know how good the quality is, but enjoy! :)

Salt Lake City

Last weekend we took a road trip up to Salt Lake City. I had a convention to go to, and my whole trip was paid for, so Brad and Mason decided to come along.
We left Thursday afternoon and drove up there.

Mason rode like this with his blanket over his head for a few hours. He would talk to us from under there, and he took a nap for a little while.
Friday, while I was at the convention, Brad took Mason to an aquarium. Mason loved the big turtles and sharks and fish...Of course, since Brad took him, I don't have any pictures :) Later that night, we drove out to Spencer and Mona's for dinner and to let the kids play for a while.

Saturday we decided to take Mason to temple square. It was super cold and snowy all weekend, but Mason was excited to see all the flowers and fountains. Uncle Brian came and met us there.
Our best attempt at a family picture...we really need to get some professionally done, one of these days...
We checked out the visitor centers. Once Mason saw this little display with a piece of rail road track on it, we couldn't get him to leave. He didn't care about seeing anything else, and he kept running back to look at the track some more.
We had to stop in the other visitors center to see this. Mason thought it was pretty neat.
Later that day we went and met Spencer and Mona at Ikea. We always have fun walking around that store...Now, we just need one in Las Vegas so that we can actually buy some furniture from there. We found some perfect little beds for Mason but there is no way to get the boxes from SLC to Vegas...Oh well.
We ate lunch there and then we got some ice cream before we left.
Mason and Gavin are little cheesers and so cute together.
That night we stayed at Spencer and Mona's. The kids played and were thrilled with dinosaurs and lego guns.
After we put the kids to bed, Brad and Spencer played video games (surprise), so Mona and I decided to make some hair bows. We had fun and decided that we need to do a craft every time because our husbands will always be playing video games :)

Building teeth and making cupcakes

A couple weeks ago, Mason and I took Brad lunch at work. Mason LOVES going to Brad's work. He likes to help Brad build teeth. He will sit on Brad's lap forever and use different little tools and poke at the models of the teeth.
He is such a big helper... :)
Earlier that day Mason found a bunch of tattoos and insisted on having them all put on his arms.
Later that day we decided to make cupcakes. Mason loves "tuptakes." He would seriously eat 10 if I would let him. Anyways, we decided to color our vanilla cupcake mix and make "rainbow" cupcakes.
Mason was a good helper in pouring everything into the bowl and putting the tins in the cupcake pans.
Kelli and Dylan came over the make cupcakes with us.

The colored batter...doesn't it look so delicious??
The cupcakes after we baked them.
Then came the tasting! These little boys gobbled up those cupcakes, or at least Mason did.
So yummy!

Touch-A-Truck 2011

This year we went to the annual Touch-A-Truck. This year it was super windy and cold but we thought we would still go for it. Mason was not too happy out in the wind so we didn't stay for very long. We did see a few trucks that Mason was interested in.
We got there just in time to watch a helicopter land.
Mason really liked it until the helicopter got closer and then he had to turn his head from the wind.
By far, Mason's favorite truck to see was the fire truck. We went inside every single fire truck that was there.
Mason was scared of the fire truck dog.
Mason loves school busses so I was surprised when he didn't want to go inside, but he liked it from the outside :)
Our best attempt at a family picture.
We also saw a shark transport truck that had a real shark in it. The line was ridiculously long, but we got lucky and saw one of our friend's in line with his kids and they let us cut in with them. Mason really liked the shark truck too.
Overall, it was fun. I think we would have had a better time if it wasn't super windy and cold, but maybe next year!
