DISNEYLAND

This year we decided to skip Thanksgiving and go to Disneyland instead! We did the Disney "Give-a-day, Get-a-day" program so we had free tickets into Disneyland. We drove to Anaheim Wednesday night and got ready to take on Disneyland on Thursday. We had so much fun! We kept telling Mason that we were going to visit Mickey Mouse but I don't think he got it until we actually got there. Our hotel had a shuttle to Disneyland so Mason was super excited that we got to ride a "bus" there. First thing we saw when we got inside was Minnie Mouse!

Mason wouldn't stop staring at her to take a picture
Then we saw Pluto! mason kept saying its a "big Pluto"
Then we headed off to do some rides. We weren't sure how Mason would do on the rides but he didn't cry on anything!
Mason rode Dumbo with Daddy...
And the teacups with Mom and Kristin...
He even talked someone into giving him their soda...
Despite his little tantrum in this picture, Mason loved the car ride...
Of course we had to go visit Mickey Mouse, Mason thought his house was pretty cool...
Driving Mickey's car...
We had to ride the circus train...we sat in the monkey cage! We also rode the monorail 4 times because Mason thought that it was super cool...
I think everyone's favorite ride was the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters...Brad liked to shoot the blasters and Mason liked to watch him...i think we rode it 5 times :)
Everytime we walked by the big Buzz in line, Mason would wave and say "Hi Buzz, Bye Buzz" Too cute!

Mason thought the castle was pretty cool...he think it is Mickey's castle...
By the end of the night, Mason was exhausted!
We had so much fun taking Mason to Disneyland. It was so cute to watch him get excited about seeing all the characters and going on the rides. He really enjoyed "It's a small world" Another favorite was Pirates of the Caribbean. Mason started singing along to "yo ho yo ho" while we were riding Pirates.
We decided to let Mason pick out his souvenir...of course, he went straight to the Cars section and picked out a giant Mack truck. It is a carrying case that came with a bunch of little cars inside. He absolutely loves it. He hasn't let go of it for the 2 days since we have been home :)
He rode the whole car ride home with it on his lap
Today we were driving in the car and Mason randomly said "Thank you Mama and Dada for Mickey Mouse's castle" It was too sweet. (He calls Disneyland Mickey Mouse's castle) He is already asking to go back!

Little Chef

Mason loves to "help" cook. He always sits on the counter with his own spoon and he will help stir everything. The other day, I used some spices so Mason decided that he needed to mix his own spices. So I gave him all the spices off our spice rack that we never use and he mixed up his own special spice mix...It kept him entertained forever! The only problem was that he insisted on putting it on our food :) so I "helped" him and made sure his concoction did not get into the spaghetti.
He was SO proud of himself
Thank you for being such a good helper, MayMay!

Halloween

Our Halloween celebrations extended all week long! It was a long week and maybe a little too much Halloween. Mason was a Doctor this year. He had little scrubs and his very own stethoscope. He even knows how to use it :). On Wednesday I took Mason to Brad's work in his costume. Mason thought it was really cool to sit at Dad's bench and look at the teeth.

On Thursday we went to a Halloween part with all of our play group friends. Mason thought it was fun to see all the different costumes and eat lots of candy. On Friday we had our ward Trunk-or-Treat. It didn't take Mason very long to figure out that when he said "Trick or treat" then he got some candy. He was so excited to go to every car and he said thank you to everyone. Too sweet! Then on Saturday we started out at the Lyman's house. Then we tagged along to their ward Trunk-or-treat. Mason had the hang of it this time and was not shy at all about going up and saying "trick-or-treat"
These pictures are the best I got. Mason does not make it easy to take pictures anymore!

Halloween at the Lyman"s

Saturday morning we all headed over to the Lyman's for some Halloween fun. Grandma treated us all to Krispy Kreme Halloween donuts. So good. Then we did a little pumpkin carving... Mason was interested for about 2 minutes before he decided that he would rather go play with the train set...Brad did a good job of carving the pumpkins :)

The we made some oreo spider cookies...
Mason was a lot more interested in the final pumpkins...
Then Grandma had sugar cookies for the kids to decorate. Mason really enjoyed this part.
He did a lot of eating the frosting instead of putting it on his cookie...but he was really into putting sprinkles on his cookies...
Mason's final product! Don't those cookies look delicious?! :)
