Halloween 2012

We had a lot of fun this Halloween. We grew some pumpkins in our garden and ended up with about 20 of them. We carved a few one night. Mason was just super excited to get to use a little pumpkin carving knife. He spent the whole night just stabbing it into his pumpkin so he ended up with little tiny holes all over.

One afternoon we went to Trick or Treat Street, where a bunch of local businesses decorate a trailer and then hand out candy. The kids had a blast of course.

I went to Mason's school for a Halloween party. It was a ton of fun for the kids. They got snacks, played games, and read stories.

An attempt at a class picture of 3 and 4 year olds...
Mason kept telling me that he wanted to be a mummy for Halloween so I spent an afternoon cutting out strips and making a mummy costume...of course after I spent all the time making it, Mason changed his mind and refused to even try it on...luckily he had gotten a new pirate costume for his birthday and he decided to wear that instead. And I learned my lesson and will never make him a costume again : )

Happy Halloween from the cutest little witch and pirate!

The rest of the Summer...

On Mason's actual birthday he got a couple more presents...this time he talked Grandpa into helping him build his legos.
Mason helped Grandpa trim the chickens wings.

Morgan scraped her nose after falling down the cement steps. She got all dressed up for a Daddy/Daughter activity at the church

Mason and the Doty's played with the new croquet set he got from Aunt Kelli for his birthday

We took a really quick trip down to Las Vegas/St. George for Shane's wedding.

All the pumpkins from our garden :)

Mason has a birthday!

Mason turned 4 on August 28th. I gave him a choice between having a party or having a special night out with Mom and Dad. He chose the night out, so we left Morgan at my parent's and set off to do whatever Mason wanted.

We started with some rides and arcade games at Leo's place.

Then we had some dinner at Red Robin.

After dinner we went to Toys 'r us to let Mason pick out a toy. He knew he wanted some legos but once he saw how many legos there were, it took him a while to pick out what he wanted.
He ended up with a lego log cabin (it took me 2 hrs to put it together...good thing he is  cute kid) and a little lego fire truck.

Morgan turned 1!

Morgan turned one on July 24th! We had a little party for her while the Lyman's were still in town.

Morgan actually wasn't a big fan of the cupcake. I don't think she even took one bite
She was more interested in the presents, especially a little toy iphone that plays music and a little doll and stroller that she got from the Doty's.
We got Morgan a pink Little Tykes car. Mason was really in to this present and he ran and got his toolbox to help Daddy build it one night after Morgan went to bed.

Morgan really likes the car, especially when she gets pushed around in it and doesn't have to do any of the work.

Morgan weighed in at 18 pounds and 27 inches at her 1 year checkup. She started walking about a week after her birthday and grew her first 2 teeth about 2 weeks after she turned 1. We sure love this busy little girl!

Lyman Visit July 2012

The Lyman's came to visit us again in July. We packed a lot of fun into a few days.
One day we went to the zoo. It was a lot of fun to watch the kids with the animals and running around together.

We also went to the river to feed the ducks one day.

My hospital had a picnic one day that we went to. There were blow up houses that the kids loved and train rides.

A little swimming in the backyard

One day we drove to Jackson Hole and went on the Alpine slide, did some miniature golfing and took a scenic ride on the ski lifts.
