Birthday Boy

On Mason's actual birthday, I made him french toast with strawberries and whip cream. We put a candle in it and let him blow it out. He thought it was so cool that he kept asking for it to be lit again and again and again. :) He also asked for a candle with every meal for the next 2 day.
I can't believe that Mason is 2! He is growing up so fast. He is mischievous and definitely a trouble maker but he is so sweet. He loves his family, especially all his cousins. Mason loves to play with trucks and trains. He also loves to read books and color pictures. We sure love this little boy and can't wait to see what other excitement he brings to us!

Birthday Party!!

This year we decided to have Mason's birthday party at Pump-it-Up. We had been so busy traveling all summer and I was getting back into school after the summer break so we thought it would be an easy but super fun party. Mason was blessed to have lots of family and friends there .We are so glad so many came to share in the celebration.

First, the kids had to watch a safety video
Then came the fun jumping part! I think most of the Dad's there had just as much fun as all the kids :)
Of course, no water is as good as drinking fountain water

Mason ended up with so many nice presents. He really loved the train track.
He also got some Buzz Lightyear pajamas that my aunt made, along with a Buzz blanket. Mason wanted to take the whole train track into his crib that night :) We made him settle for just the train part.

Thank you to all of our family and friends for being there for Mason's special day! We missed all of our family that could not be there!

Popcorn, Anyone?

Mason LOVES his popcorn. We had some popcorn one afternoon and I thought Mason was done eating it so I went ahead and dumped the rest in the trash...apparently, he was not done because he ran to the trash and decided that he needed to finish the popcorn... So gross. I only let him eat enough to keep him there for a couple pictures.

2 Year Pictures

Kristin and I took Mason to get some pictures taken. Kristin bought Mason a new outfit for his birthday and so we wanted him to wear it for his pictures. However, the whole picture taking experience was awful this time! Mason would not cooperate at all and he spent a lot of time crying. That being said, I still think he looks pretty adorable.

This one just looks like he has a little attitude, like you can't make me smile.
I wasn't planning on being in any pictures but since Mason kept crying, I held him. This one has to be in black & white because we completely clashed.
I like this one because I think his pose looks kinda cute. Plus, he never makes sad faces like this so it makes me laugh every time I look at it.

Mt. Charleston

On Tuesday night we went up to Mt. Charleston for the evening. Jamie and Drew were taking their kids camping and invited anyone to come along. We didn't stay the night but we drove up for dinner and smores. Mason was thrilled with the dirt and running around with all his cousins.

This was the only picture I got with all 4 kids. They were way to busy to stop for a picture. Here they were on a little slope and were sliding down it sideways.

Jamie and Drew brought everything for tin foil dinners. So yummy! We love those. After dinner we got out the marshmallows and let the kids roast them. I think the kids has more fun letting them catch fire than actually eating them.

He thought he was so big to hold it all by himself.

Big Truck!

Brad has a friend at work who recently decided to start driving truck full time so he invested in his own semi. Mason has seen pictures of the truck and has gotten so excited when he looks at them. So Brad talked to Craig and he invited Mason over to see the truck.
Mason had a blast. He even got to sit up in the truck and drive it. Mason knows that all semi's should have a trailer hooked to the back so he kept asking Craig, "Where did it go?"

After he was done playing with the truck he got to go inside Craig's house. Craig has no kids and he lives alone so it was a quite the adventure for Mason to go in. Craig has tons of little truck models that he has put together all over his house. He also has a train set up along a ledge in his house. Mason was in heaven!!

Natural History Museum

Jamie & Drew invited us to go to the Natural History Museum with them. We thought Mason would enjoy it, so we went. We started in the fish room that had giant shark teeth and whales all over. There was even an aquarium that had real live sharks and rays. Mason has recently started to love sharks so he was so excited.

Then we moved into the dinosaur room. There were huge dinosaurs all over and there were buttons that you could push to make the dinosaurs roar. All the kids liked this a lot. Even Quin liked it, but he kept his ears covered most of the time.

There was a little fish tank bubble that you could put your head into. Mason thought this was so cool and he saw lots of "memo's" (Nemo)

Mason also has a snake and bug obsession so he was really excited about seeing tons of them.
Mason saw this and was kinda confused. He knew it wasn't completely a monkey but he wasn't quite sure about it. Can't blame him, it was pretty creepy.

I do this

Mason has this new thing where he just likes to yell. He likes to
yell just to hear it, I think. It drives me crazy! He is loud and it
is obnoxious and I can't figure out how to get him to stop.

So, the other day Mason was doing his screaming and Brad sits down
with Mason and tells him, "That hurts my ears, and
mom's ears, and Kristin's ears. Please don't scream."
So Mason looked at Brad like he was stupid and
says, "I do this" and stuck his fingers in his ears!
What a booger!

Mason has also started saying his name and talking a lot, just blabbing all the time.
He calls himself MayMay. So I had him in his high chair eating dinner and all of a sudden
he says, "I'm MayMay. Whoo-hoo!" I'm so glad that he enjoys being himself!

Wild Child

What can I say? Mason is turning into a hyper little child!
He runs back and forth all day long and he gets into everything! I can't keep up with him!

Here are a few pictures...a few months old but they still make me laugh.
