For Spring Break, we decided we wanted to take the kids on a little vacation.
We decided to go to Salt Lake for the weekend. It was perfect, not too far of a drive but it had plenty of things to do as a family.
We left Friday after Brad got home from work. We made it to the hotel about 7:30. The hotel was perfect. It had a living room with a couch that folded out into a bed so Mason and Morgan slept there. We put Maddox in the pack n play in our bedroom.
The kids were super excited to explore the hotel room.
On Saturday morning we got up and met Brian at Denny's for breakfast. Then we took the kids to temple square.
Mason was a big fan of the visitor's center that showed the tools used to get the stone and the train tracks.
The kids are obsessed with water fountains so they insisted on stopping for a picture at every one.
We also walked around the conference center. We were there on the day of the Women's broadcast so it was closed to visitors on the inside.
After Temple Square, we drove to the mall that had Build a Bear and the Lego store.
Morgan had been asking for weeks to go to "Polar Bear."
Once she got inside, she couldn't decide which animal she wanted. She probably put her animal back 6 times and picked a new one.
She finally decided on Pinkie Pie from My Little Ponies.
Maddox got a little puppy. The kids took their new animals to give them a wash and brush.
Mason washed the puppy for Maddox.
Morgan with her Pinkie Pie.
Next up was the Lego store. This was definitely the kid's favorite stop. Morgan loved to build towers at the play station.
Mason liked building too, but he couldn't stop bouncing from one are of the store to the next. He found so many lego sets that he thought were so cool.
Mason finally decided on a Lego city set.
After the Lego store, we stopped at Costco. We always have to go when we are in Utah. We walked around for a little while and then got lunch. Then we went back to the hotel for a little while to let the kiddos take a nap.
After nap time, we went to the Gateway Discovery museum. It was definitely worth paying for. The kids would have stayed forever if we would have let them.
Maddox's favorite station was the beehive with all the little balls.
Mason and Morgan both loved the water station. They directed boats and played and played and played.
Our attempt at a family picture. At least I got one of them looking.
Mason was a big fan of the rock climbing wall.
Maddox got pretty mad that he couldn't climb up it.
All the kids loved the farm section. Mason and Morgan loved the horse.
Maddox was a big fan of the potato plants. Guess he is an Idaho boy.
There was a new display of a life flight helicopter. Morgan loved to be the pilot.
Mason loved being in the back of the helicopter.
Morgan and Maddox spent forever in the sand box. I liked it because it wasn't real sand, but it was little pellets of squishy rubber or something.
After the museum we got some dinner. Then we went back to the hotel and did a little swimming in the indoor pool. Maddox absolutely loved swimming.
We had so much fun. It was nice to have a little getaway and take the kids to see some new things. We drove home on Sunday so that Brad and I could be back to work on Monday.
